Aico's Ionisation Smoke Alarm works by an electrical current running between the two electrodes in the chamber - if smoke breaks them, the alarm sounds. When no smoke particles remain, the alarm stops. This makes it sensitive to all fire types but particularly fast flaming fires. All fittings are included and it is easy to install. When the battery is nearing its end of life, the alarm will emit a short beep every 40 seconds to indicate that the battery needs replacing. When the battery is first connected, the alarm may sound for 2 to 3 seconds, this is normal and means that the battery is connected correctly.
